II Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Dr Władysława Pniewskiego w Gdańsku (II High School in Gdańsk – named after Władysław Pniewski, PhD) is a secondary comprehensive school offering educational programmes preparing for General Secondary Education Certificate (Polish: “Matura”). We offer advanced level of maths, physics, biology, chemistry, geography, history, social studies, English and Polish. English is taught in many different groups according to our students’ level of language competence. Apart from English classes taught at various levels, we also teach French, Italian, Spanish, German and Norwegian. Depending on weather conditions, seasons and school facilities, we offer various extra curriculum activities such as sports, drama, music. Our school has a long history of students’ exchanges with schools from Germany, France, the Netherlands, the UK, Spain, Portugal, Türkiye, Italy, Romania, Malta, Greece and Austria either with or without financial support from the EU. After operating as a primary school before World War II, the school was transformed into a secondary education institution and as such is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2025.
